During The Year-end Holiday, An Average of 5,044 Vehicles - 33.02% of the Daily Average of 15,277 Vehicles​ - Made Top-Up Transactions at Tebing Tinggi Tollgate​

Medan (1/6) - A daily average of 5,044 vehicles -  33.02% of the average daily of 15,277 vehicles - performed e-toll top-up at Tebing Tinggi Tollgate for Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi (MKTT) Toll Road, during the year-end holiday, December 23, 2020, to January 4, 2021.

PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol (JMKT), the manager of MKTT, has provided a special top-up lane, particularly for Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate. However, due to its high demand, there has been an overcapacity that impacts the main lane leading to the transaction booth.

Head of Jasa Marga On-Standby of Region-3 Operational Task Force for the year-end holiday of 2020, M Tsani Yusron Pribadi, explained that there was a long queue at Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate due to the high number of vehicles performing top-ups.  It was 56% higher compared to the normal days.

Tsani Yusron added, to anticipate, the following actions have been taken: 
a. Provision of additional lanes for top-ups, 3 lanes at the exit gate. Exits for Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BCA, and Bank BRI; 
b. Provision of 1 additional lane for top-up service at the gate office, specifically for Bank Mandiri and Bank BCA; and 
c. Provision of additional top-up services for BRI electronic money using mobile (NFC).

It can be concluded that the long queue of vehicles at Tebing Tinggi Tollgate during the year-end 2020 holiday was due to the lack of sufficient e-Toll balances.​

“We advise travelers to make sure that their e-toll balance is sufficient and to immediately perform a top-up according to the tariff of the destination tollgate before entering the toll road.  This can be performed through mobile banking, ATM outlets, and mini markets for a faster and more efficient traffic flow at the tollgate,” Tsani Yusron added.
