Jasa Marga Promotes Safe Driving at Halal Park
Jakarta (5/27) - To promote driving safety, particularly by the 2019 Eid homebound and post-homebound holiday, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. collaborated with Hijup to organize a Creative Class with the theme "Safe Driving during Homebound Holiday" at Bung Karno Stadium Halal Park, Jakarta, on Monday (5/27).
The Class invited two keynote speakers, Jasa Marga's Traffic Management Department Head Atika Dara Prahita and Automotive Influencer Diandra Gautama, which have made a comprehensive presentation, specifying Eid homebound and post-homebound trip preparations, to the online-registered participants and Halal Park community.
Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru Santoso, who also attended the event, said that the Creative Class aimed to educate and encourage the society to support a safe, secure, and convenient homebound trip.
"We hope the class will benefit the participants and society in general so that we will accomplish a well-expected homebound trip this year," he said.
As an influencer, Diandra Gautama stressed the importance of physical and vehicle preparations for homebound trips. Vehicles need to be prepared for long trips to reduce potential road accidents.
"This is based on family experience when we had neglected our comprehensive vehicle checkup. The left rear wheel went loose," she said.
Lucky, the incident received firsthand help from Jasa Marga's officers on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Segment.
"The officers immediately assisted us in the car evacuation from the toll segment. Our family learned a valuable lesson ever since," she said.
Meanwhile, Atika mentioned three major changes this year which impact the homebound travelers on the toll road.
"The Transjava Toll Road connection is the first, then the relocation of Cikarang Utama Tollgate to Cikampek Utama and Kalihurip Utama, and finally the one-way application," she said.
Long-distance travelers on Transjava Toll Road, she explained, must pay attention to driving safety. Ensure your vehicle prime condition by thoroughly examining the wheels and making sure that your vehicle fuel is sufficient. Drivers should also consider their physical condition.
"We really need to take notice of driving safety as the long journey will drain stamina. We advise travelers to take a good rest after traveling a 200-km trip as well as to prepare food supplies for the long trip," she explains.
Atika also advised travelers to abide by the signs, drive vigilantly, and comply with the maximum speed on the toll road, as well as to maintain a sufficient balance of their electronic money through top-ups up to IDR 2 million to anticipate a short supply of balance.
The event ended with a fasting break as well as a charity handed over to the orphanage and the underprivileged.
