Jakarta (10/05), PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk together with the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) held a special rescue simulation for accidents on toll roads using air rescue in the form of helicopters on Monday (10/05). This simulation activity was held at the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Flyover (MBZ) Km 40B and the Jagorawi Highway Km 19B. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiyadi, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Danang Parikesit, Head of BASARNAS Marsdya TNI Henri Alfiandi, Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Ridwan Bae and Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur were Present at the simulation activity.

The simulation of Jasa Marga and BASARNAS accident handling is carried out continuously, starting from reports of road users, coordination of related officers, both officers at Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC) and officers in the field. The evacuation of victims was carried out by Jasa Marga joint officers consisting of Mobile Customer Service, Rescue, Ambulance to Derek. The simulation focuses on the evacuation of accidents with seriously injured victims who are in locations that are difficult to reach and need to be handled quickly.

Seeing these moment, the JMTC Officer who received a field handling report forwarded a request for air rescue assistance to BASARNAS. After some time, BASARNAS picked up victims by helicopter to then bring victims who needed emergency treatment to Yarsi Hospital and POLRI Hospital.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi appreciated the collaboration initiated by BASARNAS together with BPJT and Jasa Marga. "This is in line with the Government's plan in handling road accidents to reach a zero fatality rate, where the toll road is targeted for the short term, namely in 2024. We believe this can be achieved with the hard work of BASARNAS, Directorate General of Transportation, BPJT and toll road operators such as Jasa The clan that must be continuously carried out and trained, "said Budi.

Head of BASARNAS Marsdya TNI Henri Alfiandi explained, this simulation was made to provide answers to the public in the event of an accident on a toll road that has a high level of difficulty and requires speed to be able to help victims. "With this collaboration, there is an opportunity to practice together so that the skills of officers in helping victims will be sharpened. This is very good for ensuring the safety of the community," he added.

In line with the Minister of Transportation and the Head of BASARNAS, the Head of BPJT Danang Parikesit also agreed that the focus of all agencies is to reduce the accident fatality rate. "Not only from the number of accidents that have decreased, what is also important for us is that the number of victims who died should also be reduced to zero. Our focus is on reducing the fatality rate. In 2019 the figure is 0.12, down to 0.109 in 2020 and the next target is zero in 2024. In the future this activity can be a model to be applied to other toll roads, "said Danang.

Jasa Marga's President Director revealed that this was an extraordinary experience because so far Jasa Marga has handled accidents on the ground so that when it comes to carrying out rescue by air, it receives direct training from the experts, namely the BASARNAS team. "Hopefully there will be no serious accidents, but in the future, with this simulation, Jasa Marga is ready to handle accidents that require air rescue. Even now, Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center is well integrated with the existing system at BASARNAS so that whenever Jasa Marga asks for help, Insya Allah BASARNAS is ready to help, "concluded Subakti.

This simulation activity is a follow-up to the collaboration between Jasa Marga and BASARNAS which was signed in mid-April. In this collaboration, Jasa Marga and BASARNAS agreed to improve service and safety on toll roads, as well as to increase safety rates when accidents occur on toll roads managed by Jasa Marga. Apart from Jasa Marga and BASARNAS, in the simulation of accident handling and evacuation, other parties such as the Police and Hospitals (RS) are also involved, which will be the destination for the evacuation of victims, namely Yarsi Hospital and POLRI Hospital.
