Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi Toll Rate Officially Applies on April 21, 2019 Midnight

Medan (04/22) – The toll rate of the 9.26-km Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road Segment 7 (Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi) officially applies on April 21, 2019 midnight.

This last segment of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road had gone through non-tariffed trial operation since March 25, 2019 to introduce the toll road to the public.

Based on the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Number 257/KPTS/M/2019 dated March 13, 2019, the toll rate for Class I, II, III, IV and V on Sei Rampah-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road are Rp 9,000, Rp 13,500, Rp 13,500, and Rp 18,000, and Rp 18.000, respectively. Meanwhile, the toll rate for the previously operated toll road (From Tanjung Morawa to Sei Rampah Toll Gates, and vice versa) remains the same. See the infographic for the List of Toll Rates.

Segment 7 had been completed in December 2018 and was functional during the 2018 Christmas and 2019 New Year holiday homebound trips. The segment officially operates under Ministry of PUPR Decree Number 256 /KPTS/M/2019.

The last segment has complemented the entire 61.7-km Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road. Travelers can now travel between Medan and Tebing Tinggi for only an hour, compared to the 2-3 hour travel through existing pathway.

Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road is part of Aceh-to-Lampung Trans Sumatera Toll Road. The toll road is currently used for transportations and logistics between Medan, Kualanamu International Airport, Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, and Lake Toba Tourist Destination.

PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol (JMKT), the manager of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road, has advertised the toll road through social media, leaflets, banners, and Variable Message Signs (VMS).

Jasa Marga advises the travelers to ensure a sufficient electronic-money balance in advance to avoid long queues at the toll gate. The same electronic-money must be used when accessing and leaving the toll road due to its close-transaction system.
